REMEMBER YOUR VERY FIRST BOYFRIEND/GIRLFRIEND?

These are were very young children! That woman needed medication. She probably still needs medication. Perhaps anyone who has to deal with her could benefit from medication. :)

I understand that "in your face", ever more sexually explicit societal values may make a parent nervous, but one young child referring to another as a boyfriend or girlfriend? Gimme a break!

When I was little, we didn't have MTV, rap or reality TV. Shoot, television had 3 channels in black and white and all TV shows would have been rated for general audiences, if there had been a rating system back then.
Big screen films were wholesome. Doris Day was a superstar. Musicals abounded.

Parents were buttoned up characters, much the same as the television show, "Mad Men".
Sex was something no one discussed that happened behind closed doors, quietly. MWAHAHAHA! It's true.

Yet I had a boyfriend, beginning in Kindergarten. Where did I learn the concept of 'boyfriend/girlfriend'? From Bugs Bunny and other cartoons! Remember how vintage cartoons portrayed love as heart-shaped hearts thumping from within a characters' chest, or batting long eyelashes?
My first boyfriend's name was Paul. He was in my class at school and he lived in my neighborhood. We were pals and he'd bring me charms he'd scored from the penny bubblegum machine almost every day. I had quite the collection! It was sheer innocence.

I wish all young children could have special friends with whom to spend time. Call them boyfriend and girlfriend or boy friend and girl friend - either will suit just fine.
And I hope the mother of the little girl I mentioned in the first paragraph of this post will get the 'green light' from her insurance company to have her surgery....
...you know, the surgery to remove the stick that's up her a$$....
Always looking forward, PJ
