Alphabe-Thursday

This session of Alphabe-Thursday will feature weekly excerpts from the book, "An Animated Alphabet", written by my late mother, nanciellen Dorler.

H--h

Horrendously round and hairy,
that's Heironymous* Hedgehog the Third.

Heironymous behaves quite well;
he'll not do a thing that's absurd,

and he's never in a hurry;
he shuffles because he's well-furred.

His hype makes up for his lace of height.
He hollers and hoots 'til he's heard.

It's sure that whatever happens,
Heironymous has the last word!

* pronounced "Hy-ron'-eh-moos"

  12. I know some people keep hedgehogs as pets, but they are awfully tricky to handle. I gave my granddaughter two Calico Critters hedgehogs for Christmas, but one of our dog-children ate one!

My Photo
I love God, my family and friends, animals and, while I know I shouldn't love "things", I love my home. I'm not fond of the color pink unless it's the work of Mother Nature (apparently not a popular opinion in 'blog land'), I DESPISE whining, I won't allow beets anywhere in my home or garden, and I don't understand why humanity can't play nice and share. -->PS. This blog is not Switzerland; I'm neutral in nothing. :)
