O -- o
Ophelia Ostrich and Otto Otter
fell in love at the edge of the water.
They make an odd twosome, sipping hot tea,
one adores land and one adores sea.
She differs from him like 'go' does from 'stop',
like 'hide' does from 'seek', or 'bottom' from 'top'.
Their lot has seemed doomed since first they met --
Ophelia likes arid. Otto likes wet.
Bowed but unbroken, they'll bid fond adieu,
she of green-gold and he of green-blue.
Ophelia needs piles of sand close at hand;
Otto knows life in the ocean is grand.
